It's great to see people interested in this transmission integration !
If we are enought, the transmissioncli integration may be merged in TF main branch of code Wink

About the web hosting, ryaner points what i wanted to say Wink

Granted that the python client would be easier, but for those of us unable to run make or cc for whatever reason, couldn't you install a precomiled binary for your system and give it the full path?

Not being able to run make or cc would only make it a little more difficult to run the transmission client, not impossible.

I guess that to be able to do such a thing, you need to know the hardware the server is running (most of the time it should be something based on x86), you'll have to build a static executable to get rid of libraries problems, and you'll have to know how accounts are stored in the server to know the absolute path to you executable, and last thing, you'll have to be able to chmod +x your file !

So there is almost no chance that it is possible (mainly due to security reasons) !

I love to see development like this and I hope it keeps up.   At this point, I honestly don't see this client fully integrated into TF.   I would not rule out a release in the distant future that may include the option for it though.

Keep up the good work.

As the php code showing the information is TF, and as it's TF that start/stop transmission, it should be more logical Wink But to be honest, i don't really care Tongue

Honestly, it does matter.   The web interface is not Transmission, it is TorrentFlux.   TorrentFlux uses Transmission.

I'm with qrome on this one. You don't drive an engine powered by your car. You drive a car, powered by the engine. If you change the engine in a Ford Explorer, it's still an Explorer. Transmission is the engine running in the background.

I'll take your word on that, since I've never had a shared hosting account!  Grin

Just get the transmission v0.5 source instead of CVS version (the author made some changes so i need to update the patch for CVS)
I'll post an updated patch for transmission CVS as soon as my last problem will be solved !

Transmission-0.5.patch => Latest patch for Transmission v0.5
Transmission-cvs.patch => Patch for Transmission CVS (25/03/2006)

I did not have time to add the error logging, it will be in next transmission patch (no changes in TF to add this)

Have fun Wink

Now you can all runs what i'm running Wink
I forgot a "what's new" Wink :

Transmission (0.5 & CVS) :
- added a "download limit" option for when it will be implemented
- fixed some output in stat file
- fixed the seeding ratio stalling @ 0%
- replaced the estimated time = INF to estimated time = ∞

Torrentflux :
- The downloading popup is now only showing the options supported by transmission (download speed limit is not yet supported, but i left it)
- transmission is now used to show the torrent details (instead of another python script)

Very nice. Just installed this and my old overloaded server is much more responsive now. Thanks a Lot!

howdi Smiley

forst, very nice work, but i have a little request, if it`s possible:

i`m using torrentflux on a webspace (not vroot oder root) with 100 other users and it works (nearly) perfect, but bittornado uses to much RAM or CPU, so that if i enable >3 torrents i just have to wait about 2 minutes and the whole webserver is offline, and yeah, that sucks Cheesy

so my question is:
can somebody compile a static x86-binary of transmission? i know that pre-compiled binaries are working on my webspace, because i can use the check-sfv-hack

i would compile it on my own, but i didn`t have linux anymore running on my pc and my router (uses linux) is powered by a ppc :/

100 users? Sweeeet!

You'll need to give some info on the type of cpu and os that your host is running, then I'm sure one of us can find a similiar machine to compile the binary on. Thats still not 100% that it'll work though.
